Rig Building Projects

Full simulator builds using real vehicle cockpits, custom hardware, and integrated software — documented from first cut to final configuration.

Each build repurposes an authentic vehicle cockpit — seat, dashboard, steering column — and integrates simulation hardware to create a high-fidelity driving environment. The goal is to close the gap between real vehicle dynamics and virtual simulation platforms like CARLA and BeamNG.

BMW Rig Build

The first full cockpit build used a salvaged BMW interior as its foundation. The project focused on integrating the authentic bucket seat, steering column hardware, and dashboard panel into a purpose-built simulator frame — producing a highly immersive and physically accurate driving position with direct-drive wheel support.

Corvette C5 Rig Build

The Corvette C5 build expanded on the BMW by incorporating a full dashboard display integration — repurposing the original instrument cluster housing to mount custom screens driven by live simulation telemetry. The authentic sports car seating geometry and wide footwell provide a distinct feel that differs significantly from a standard sim chair.

Dev Rig & Experiments

A dedicated development platform used for prototyping and testing new hardware and software integrations before deployment to the main cockpit builds. This rig has underpinned experiments in virtual rear-view mirrors, multi-screen display pipelines, lane detection overlays, and various sensor research projects.
